Iodine is an essential mineral. However, the average intake of iodine in the United States is much lower than in other countries, particularly Japan, whose residents may consume as much as 200 milligrams of iodine daily. Although perhaps most widely recognised for its role in the formation of thyroid hormones, many organs in the body utilise iodine. Breast, uterine, prostate, and ovarian tissues in particular have high iodine requirements. Tri-Iodine combines three different forms of iodine in order to provide complete support for all body tissue types.
