Product Description

Shimano bottom brackets have always been the best in their field. Their square taper bbs outlasted most other brands and was what most brands tried to copy.When the Octalink system came out it improved the stiffness between the Chainset and Bottom Bracket therefore putting more of your pedal power into the wheels rather than flexing. Since then Hollowtech 2 has become the standard but Octalink is still regarded as one of the best systems for your drivetrain.

The axle is larger than the square tapered versions and is circular. This offers an improved rotational stiffness.

Due to the larger axle an Octalink specific removal tool is required.
