Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is the most common form of vaginal infection. It is caused by an imbalance in the naturally occurring bacteria within the vagina and leads to a variety of symptoms, including embarrassing odour, abnormal discharge and discomfort.

Balance Activ BV quickly, effectively and safely combats the symptoms and causes of BV thanks to its unique formula of lactic acid and glycogen. The most common cause of premature birth is bacterial infection in the vagina. This infection may go unnoticed by the expectant mother, and in some cases may induce preterm birth. Normal vaginal bacteria protect against these infections and have a pH of up to 4.5. (The pH value provides information about acidity; the more acid the vaginal content, the lower the pH value). These infections may travel from the vagina into the uterus and/or lead to the production of labour-inducing agents, and thus to preterm labour.
For this reason the pH-EcoCareTM test system was developed. It enables expectant mothers to easily detect disturbances in vaginal acidity.
