• The product Artichoke+ is a combination of standardised exsiccated Artichoke leaf extract, the vitamins A, C and E, and the micro elements iron, manganese and zinc. Artichoke is grown in the countries of Southwest and South Europe, North Africa, South America and California and is a vegetable used for food. The artichoke (Cynara scolymus) is among the earliest plants on the Earth to be grown by humans and has been known for 2000 years. Theophrastus, a disciple of Aristotle, is among the first who described in detail the plant and its useful properties. The leaves of the plant and the exsiccated extract, prepared from them contain substances of high biological value (caffeylquinine acids, cynarine, lutheoline, flavonoids) which have a favourable effect on liver functions. One of the functions of the liver is to neutralise all toxins, resulting from the breakdown of food, alcohol and medicines and to eliminate (excrete ) them from the body with the bile.
• Artichoke + helps to increase bile secretion, it stabilises the cell membrane of liver cells, restores their normal function and thus protects the liver from damage. By increasing bile secretion, Artichoke+ reduces the risk of gastrointestinal disorders, associated with gas formation, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Artichoke+ acts also as an antioxidant - on the one hand it decreases production of cholesterol in the liver while on the other hand it increases the rate of its transformation into bile acids, which eliminate it from the organism with the bile.
