Long hiking days, fresh mountain air, the magic of alpine huts: Spitzner's Alpine Herbs Sauna Infusion brings a waft of freshly mown alpine meadow into your own sauna. And we mean it literally, because the tiny scent molecules enter through our nose directly into the limbic system where our emotions and memories are stored. Our senses are stimulated, our intuition is improved and emotional blocks are released. So use a sauna infusion, close your eyes, breathe in and enjoy! Alpine meadows - origin and history: The plant communities known as mat-grass pasture and Blaugras-Horstseggenrasen (seslerio-semperviretum) are regarded as typical blossoming alpine meadows. In contrast are the alpine plants which are carried down into a lower position by rivers and streams, known as "Alpenschwemmlinge" in German. In order to adjust to the conditions on the mountain, the alpine plants developed different behavioural patterns which differentiate them from related species, or even the same variety, in non-alpine regions. The climatic conditions are crucial in determining which species grow in a particular region. Many alpine plants were said to have magic powers in earlier times. Some were even known as invocation herbs against "invoking", i.e. casting spells and bewitching.
