Oraldene mouthwash contains the active ingredient hexetidine, which is an antiseptic. It can be used as a mouthwash or to gargle with. Hexetidine kills bacteria and fungi and is therefore used to treat minor mouth infections, including oral thrush. Oraldene can also be used to treat other mouth conditions that are caused or made worse by bacteria, such as gum disease, sore throats and recurrent mouth ulcers. It is also used to kill the bacteria that cause bad breath, and to prevent infections both before and after dental surgery. What is it used for? Minor mouth infections. Oral thrush (candidasis). Preventing and treating gum disease (gingivitis). Bad breath. Mouth ulcers. Sore throats. Oral hygiene before and after dental and oral surgery. How do I use it? Oraldene is used either as a mouthwash or as a solution to gargle. It should be spat out, not swallowed.
