The Race Eco has been designed specifically for riders wishing to try a road bike for the first time. It's built with economy in mind but uses a clever combination of parts to make a fantastic entry level road machine. To keep the price down the Race is constructed around Viking's track proven stock high tensile steel frame which has very relaxed frame geometry for a comfortable ride. Shimano handlebar indexed shifters are fitted for precise, effortless gear changing. The Race roles along on a stealthy black set of 36 hole Viking deep section alloy rims with a quick release front hub. The larger 700C wheels with narrow 23C tyres and higher gearing make it easier to achieve and maintain higher speeds than a mountain bike or hybrid. The Race comes equipped with a 14 speed transmission using a 14-28 tooth freewheel on the rear and a 38-48 double chainset. Powerful alloy calliper brakes are fitted to slow the bike in all conditions. An ideal entry level bike for an introduction to road bikes.
