Product Description
Diatomaceous Earth is a versatile naturally formed light and fluffy powder mainly comprised of silica produced by microscopic single celled plants called Diatoms. As well as being rich in silica, DE is rich in over 11 essential trace minerals including calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc and selenium.
It is important to only use the right type of DE as there are hundreds of types of Diatoms which vary in quality and purity. Each variety grows its own uniquely shaped and beautifully complex shell. Although every type is equally beautiful in its intricate detail, some shapes are more effective than others, particularly the cylindrical Diatoms with microscopic pores and a cage like structure.
One heaped, rounded teaspoon weighs approx 2g. One heaped, rounded tablespoon weighs approx 6g. Open carefully to avoid inhalation.
Store sealed in a cool dry place.
Detox: Use up to one tablespoon in 200ml of purified water or fruit juice once daily. Should be taken on any empty stomach at least 30 minutes before food. Safe for both humans and animals.
For Pets: DE can be used as a mineral rich food supplement for controlling worms and other parasites. Dose according to animal weight, if unsure please contact us or your vet. Also can be used topically to kill fleas and ticks. Apply a small amount to fur/coat once weekly or as required.
Pest Control: DE is a safe alternative to conventional chemical insecticides. It is effective against all types of insects including Aphids, Ants, Bed Bugs, Cockroaches, Fleas, Mites, Slugs, Snails and Ticks. When insects come into contact with DE their waxy coated shells are damaged by microscopic razor sharp edges. Initially this causes decreased mobility and eventually the insect will perish due to dehydration. Apply a light dusting to desired area as a preventative or direct treatment. Works well in void spaces and anywhere that insects inhabit.
