In addition, the gel relieves pain in joints, sprains, strains, and bruises, as well as, minor sports injuries related to tendons, ligaments, and tennis elbow. How it works Unlike products* that work by only cooling or heating the skin, Voltarol® Pain-eze Emulgel® contains a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) called diclofenac which targets pain at its source. The Emulgel® technology helps the gel to penetrate deeply into the skin to enhance delivery of diclofenac to the point of pain. The gel works by blocking production of some of the body's chemicals that cause swelling (inflammation), pain and tenderness. Voltarol® Pain-eze Emulgel® has shown to be effective in providing relief and reducing neck pain compared to no treatment.
