Organic Coconut Sugar. Organic coconut sugar is one of the healthiest types of natural sweetener. The sugar has a rich sweetness and a hint of caramel flavour, similar to brown sugar.

Sevenhills Wholefoods' organic coconut sugar is grown organically in Indonesia. The sap is harvested by climbing the coconut palm and tapping its flowers. The extracted sap is then heated to evaporate its water content, and the resulting sugar crystals are collected. These crystals are then carefully sieved to ensure that there are no fibres remaining.

Compared to cane sugar, Sevenhills Wholefoods' coconut sugar has a lower glycaemic index of 35, compared to cane sugar's 50, which means that the body receives a much more sustained, balanced carbohydrate breakdown over time. The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the World Bank recently released a report that states palm sugar was bar none the world's most sustainable sweetener. Containing a host of valuable nutrients and minerals, coconut sugar still manages to produce on average 50-75% more sugar per acre than cane varieties.
