One Touch Painless Tweeze is an electric tweezer that grasps the hair above the skin's surface while transmitting dry radio frequency down the hair shaft to the root, weakening the hair follicle and making it much easier to remove. With continued use the hair root and shaft become weaker, and eventually it may stop growing altogether. How long it will take to weaken the root varies from person to person and depends on the strength of the root. With continued use, it may lead to permanent hair loss. Plucking hair is generally not advisable as the hair tends to grow back thicker and stronger and it can cause mild scarring. The One Touch attempts to tackle this problem by reducing the trauma related to tugging a hair out by force. The electric current acts to weaken the root of the hair, allowing it to almost fall out.
