The Inov-8 X-Talon 212 More World Championship wins than any other shoe in off road running combining stability, minimal weight and durability. Whilst optimally placed studs avoid clogging and deliver excellent grip in soft and loose conditions, its all the off-road shoe you'll ever need. The Inov-8 X-Talon 212's breathable mesh upper is straddled by a series of supportive Met CradleTM webbing overlays that support the foot behind the metatarsal heads, in turn delivering a platform that is simultaneously secure, cool and dry. Meta-FlexTM employs an anatomically positioned flex groove that sits directly beneath the metatarsal heads, enabling the shoe to flex as the foot does with the toes splayed and thereby encourage a natural transition. Working alongside Inov8's meta flex, the X-Talon 212 utilises their patented fascia bandTM technology which replicates the anatomical position of the plantar fascia ligament, and duplicates the function of the human foot's ability to utilize the "windlass effect". - As body weight moves forward onto the metatarsal heads and the toes begin to extend, tension on the inov-8 fascia bandTM increases. When the heel leaves the ground, the inov-8 fascia bandTM resists elongation of the medial arch and carries the entire body weight of the runner converting the shoe into a rigid propulsive lever; providing added propulsion across every stride. Grip takes the form of an aggressive formation of lugs interwoven with Inov-8' proprietary sticky rubber compound, yielding uncompromising grip and multi directional traction across a range of terrain. However the outsole design really shines in the wet, excelling at finding and holding grip on the slipperiest of surfaces. The unisex fit enables the shoe to sit as comfortably against the female foot as it does the male.
