Product Description

This is a home test for the STD Hepatitis B. The device detects what's called the HBV antigen, a protein produced by the body's immune system in order to fight off the infection. A blood sample is collected from the finger and then mixed with detection buffers. The mix of body fluids and buffer chemicals then spreads over the sample sheet in the cassette and if the given HBV protein is present a chemical reaction is initiated producing a red test line. After the specimen has been mixed with detection chemicals the results will appear almost instantly(usually within 5 minutes). These are the exact same tests used by many hospitals in Europe and North America. It must be emphasised that this test only serves as a preliminary tool of diagnosis. A confirmative result must be given by a licensed doctor.
