Envii Kit Fresh is a probiotic odour eliminator and deodoriser for sports equipment and shoes

Fresh sweat itself does not smell. The nasty smell of body odour comes from the apocrine glands which release a thick, oily sweat rich in proteins and lipids which bacteria on the skin feed on creating bad odours.

This is transferred through contact with our clothes, shoes, sports equipment, etc. The breakdown continues and the materials smell of stale sweat/B.O.!!

We are encouraged by companies to wash at low temperatures (30-40°C), but sweat can still be absorbed into the actual material, start to degrade and then you or your kit starts to smell of stale sweat!!

You could boil wash clothes and equipment and (if they don't shrink as we all know how much Lycra likes high water temperatures!!!) you may temporarily mask the smell, but you can't eradicate it!
