What is Candida?
A yeast infection is not a real STD (sexually transmitted disease) such as chlamydia or gonorrhea, but a vaginal yeast infection. Approximately 75% of women will experience atleast once an infection of candida. Nearly 50% of women repeatedly suffer from this infection. Causes of infection may include the prolonged use of antibiotics, diabetes, sexual intercourse and reduced resistance.
Common symptoms of a candida infection include:
Intense itching;
Vaginal discharge;
The reddening of the labia;
A burning sensation during urination.
If the infection is not treated, the symptoms persist or return regularly.
