Burnfree Sterile Burn Dressings are designed for first aid use on all types of burn injuries. The dressings are constructed of a special, soft, open-cell foam saturated with the Burnfree solution.
Burnfree dressings are non-adherent and the inert foam base will not shed threads, strands, fibers, etc., that might become embedded in the wound.
The moist Burnfree solution facilitates easy removal for inspection and treatment of the injured area. The gel leaves no residue. It can easily be removed with water during normal debridement. Burnfree gel is completely water soluble.
When medical assistance is not immediately available, using Burnfree dressings, along with a gauze covering for further protection, helps the burn area to remain moist for many hours. Utilizing this system also provides physical protection to the burn against further damage and contamination.
The smaller Burnfree dressings are ideal for hands and fingers. The larger dressings are large enough to receive and treat a foot, arm, or leg. Burnfree dressings can be used in the following way: Remove the dressing from the package and apply directly to the wound. Secure lightly.
Burnfree Sterile Burn Dressings can be used to reduce the pain and trauma of wounds from fires, flames, scalds, chemical, and electrical injuries. However, with chemical burns, the wound must be thoroughly irrigated, and neutralized, before using the gel. With electrical burns, the current must be turned off before using the gel since the Burnfree solution is water-based and conducts electricity.
